Action plan to supply drinking water to all houses
Minister for Panchayat Raj and rural development Nara Lokesh said 30 lakh LED bulbs would be arranged in villages. He said taps would be provided to all houses in villages.
Replying to a question in Assembly today on improving infrastructure in villages, the minister said an action plan 2019 would be developed to supply drinking water to each and every house in rural areas.
The minister said 23,493 habitations were covered with drinking water supply and 24,425 habitations were partially covered and quality affected in 445 habitations. He said an amount of Rs 1854.42 cr were spent to cover 6649 habitations with drinking water facility since April 1, 2014 and 325 fluoride affected habitations have been covered through community water purifications plants on temporary basis.
He said 37,140 habitations were connected by roads so far and another 10,605 habitations have to be connected. He said 35,767 km length CC roads were laid so far and 20,968 km length CC roads have to be laid in rural areas.
When some members complained of lack of drainage system in villages, the minister said priority would be given for both side drains and laying of roads in rural areas.
